Barcelona already in talks with Premier League star as Coutinho’s alternative
Liverpool remain firm in their decision to keep hold of Philippe Coutinho despite Barcelona’s more than impressive offer of 100 million euros.
The battle for the 24-year-old could get dirty as Coutinho has now handed in a transfer request.
And with less than three weeks until the transfer market shuts, Barcelona are looking at other options.
They have now been linked with a move for Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen according to The Express. And they go further to report that negotiations have already started with the English club.
Barcelona have been following the Dane’s development since he was at Ajax.
Ajax and Barcelona have an excellent relationship when it comes to doing transfer business. But back in 2013, it was decided he was not yet ready to play for Barcelona.
The 25-year-old has cemented his place in the Spurs team, and is one of the Premier League’s most creative talents.
He had an impressive haul of 8 goals and 15 assists in the English top-flight last season, sparking Barcelona’s interest again.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is one of the toughest men to do transfer business with. And while he has not really blocked the move of his players, he usually holds out for huge transfer fees.
Barcelona can’t negotiate with a Chinese club for Paulinho, imagine with Daniel Levy for Eriksen.
