Barcelona directors to fly to Liverpool
Barcelona continue to maintain an enormous interest in signing Philippe Coutinho and are already stepping up their preparations for the January transfer widow.
The azulgrana are convinced that the Brazilian would arrive after their failure in the summer.
But the key this time around is making sure he arrives on time and not at the end of the January transfer window. To this end, Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona directors plan to fly to Liverpool by the end of the month to meet with Liverpool officials over the 25-year-old.
Coutinho’s arrival in January would mean he is unable to play in the Champions League for Barcelona. But the club wants him to be a crucial part of their league and Copa del Rey campaign.
Coutinho i currently tied to Anfield until June 2022, but he wants an exit to Barcelona. He has not changed his mind about moving and has also warned Liverpool not listen to offers from Paris Saint Germain.
Barca’s key man in Brazilian transfers, Andre Cury, has already been informed of the club’s intention to begin negotiations early.
Coutiho’s arrival is strategic as he comes to improve the midfield that has an aging Andres Iniesta.
