Coutinho’s reaction to Barcelona’s ‘phone call’ after his hat-trick against Spartak Moscow
Liverpool got their Christmas celebrations started very early with an emphatic 7-0 win over Spartak Moscow in their final group game of the Champions League.
Coutinho set the ball rolling with a cheeky penalty after just three minutes after a silly challenge by Georgi Dzhikiya on Mo Salah.
He added a silky second on 15 minutes before Roberto Firmino killed the tie with a third for Liverpool three minutes later as Spartak crumbled.
By the time it was 18 minutes, Liverpool were already 3-0 up as Firmino capitalized on a defensive error.
Sadio Mane added fourth three minutes after half time with powerful volley after James Milner cross.
And Milner would turn provider again for Coutinho as he completed his hat-trick just two minutes with heavily deflected shot.
The Brazilian was in high spirits after the game as it was his very first hat-trick in Liverpool colors.
Coutinho was in the mixed zone speaking in an interview along with Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher. And a crazy moment occurred when Carragher’s phone rang.
Jokingly the interviewer asked if it was Barcelona calling to talk about Coutinho’s transfer after his impressive performance on the night.
Coutinho was happy with the joke as he also joined in the laughter.
