Barcelona to head back to Dortmund with fresh and improved offer
Barcelona’s pursuit of Ousmane Dembele took a fresh twist on Thursday when the player refused to turn up for training.
French papers suggested he was persuaded to board a flight to Barcelona to push through his move. The 20-year-old eventually headed to Paris instead of training with his teammates.
Dortmund explained the offer was rejected because it “did not match the player’s extraordinary footballing abilities and economic situation of the European transfer market.”
Dortmund value the player between 120 million euros and 150 million euros. In addition, they more of a fixed payment than add-ons.
Dembele’s former team Rennes are due 25% of any fee, which has made Dortmund demand more fixed payments from Barcelona.
Latest reports from AS Diario now say Barcelona would return with an offer closer to 140 million euros.
