Valverde’s reply when asked about Coutinho’s arrival
Reports have suggested that Barcelona would finally sign Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool as the transfer windo is now open.
Barcelona manager, Ernesto Valverde spoke to the press ahead of their Copa del Rey game against Celta Vigo and among the issues discussed was the arrival of Coutinho.
The Spanish boss opted for a more tactical approach and refused to say anything that would put the deal in jeopardy.
“[Coutinho] is a player for another team,” El Txingurri said.
“I don’t know what will happen, but I like mine much more.”
He then went on to speak about his own players, adding: “Having a player like Ousmane back is very positive for us.”
“He got injured just as he was adapting to the team, so let’s see if he can help us. He is ready to play.
“[Umtiti] is a great player and we hope he stays at Barcelona for many years.”
