Neymar’s teammate reveals where he would play next season
Brazilians are one of the most sought after talents in the world of football. And nobody can blame teams for battling for their signature and paying big money.
But most times such moves haven’t gone as expected with Gabriel Barbosa a typical example. The 20-year-old joined Inter Milan in August 2016 signing on for five years.
However his first season has been a complete disaster, with the striker making just nine league appearances. The Brazil international failed to get a start and only managed one goal.
Gabriel Barbosa confirms he is staying at Inter Milan
But he has confirmed he would staying put in the Serie A club next season to fight for his place.
He told Globoesporte via Four Four Two: “For now, I’m staying (at Inter Milan).”
“I’m happy here, although it is true that if I don’t play, I get bored.
“I want to play, so I hope to make a decision soon, but for now I can say that I’m staying at Inter.
“My first season at Inter was very difficult, but I still hope to show my qualities. I have been learning and maturing. I feel like a new man.
“I expected more in the way of opportunities and my start here wasn’t as I expected. I’m working hard and I now understand how Italian football works, which is very different from in Brazil. I want to establish myself here.
“There is still time to make a decision on my future.”
Arentine striker Mauro Icardi remains the number one choice at Inter scoring 24 goals in 34 league appearances during the 2016-17 season.
