Jurgen Klopp makes interesting choice between Messi and Ronaldo for 2017 Ballon d’Or
Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, had a lot to discuss about as his team prepare to face Spartak Moscow at Anfield on Wednesday night.
The Reds sit just 3 points ahead of the Russian outfit, 1 point clear of Sevilla in the Champions League Group E table, and need just a draw to seal progression into the next round.
Among the many questions the German tactician was the issue of the Ballon d’Or.
France Football are set to announce the winner of the Ballon d’Or on Thursday and once again the front runners are Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Messi has had a far better start to the season than Ronaldo, scoring 13 goals and providing 4 assists in the La Liga.
Ronaldo had a good second-half os last season as Madrid won the La Liga and Champions League. But he has failed to replicate that form so far and has managed just 2 goals in 10 La Liga.
Making his choice, Klopp opted for Messi after appearing unimpressed by the query.
He continued: ‘I don’t know too much about it. No Clue. Probably Messi.’

Liverpool vs Spartak.
While a draw would see them through, Liverpool need a win to finish as the leaders of the group.
Klopp said: “It is a proper final. It is all or nothing. We know about the situation. They know about the situation.
“It is the Champions League. It is always important but the last game of the group stage is the most important if you have to play for something, which we obviously have. It’s exciting.”
