Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard names his choice for the ‘perfect’ manager
In his glory days, Steven Gerrard was a ‘must-have’ for any team. But in the end it was Liverpool who were fortunate to enjoy his talent in the midfield.
Strikers lived off his superb passes as Liverpool terrorized opponents both at home and in Europe.
However, apart from his individual ability, there’s no doubt that coaches have had a big influence on him.
The 36-year-old recently retired from the game after one last big pay at LA Galaxy. And speaking on BT Sport, Gerrard reflected on his career and the type of manager he would have loved to play under.
For the ex-England international, passion and intensity are very important in the game, and for this reason, he picked current Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
“The way I played the game, high intensity and a lot of passion – heavy metal he calls it – I think he would be perfect for me the way I play the game.”
There’s no chance he would ever be managed by Klopp, but he has trained with the German before during his break from the MLS.
