Manchester City’s big signing offered to Barcelona if Coutinho deal remains hard
Barcelona have initiated ‘Operation Coutinho’ which they are hopeful they can bring to a logical conclusion in the January transfer window.
The blaugrana are expecting an agreement can be reached and a report broke out today saying Barcelona directors were expected to fly to Liverpool at the end of the month.
A fixed sum of 80 million euros is still on the table for Liverpool and variables adding another 30 million euros.
There’s still no certainty in Liverpool’s willingness to allow the Brazilian leave in the middle of the season.
Don Balon have reported that super agent, Jorge Mendes, has approached Barcelona and offered them a chance to sign Bernardo Silva.
Bernardo is rated as one of the best talents from Portugal and some say he comes closely behind Cristiano Ronaldo.
He joined Manchester City in the summer for 50 million euros with another 30 million in variables. Silva is allegedly not enjoying his time in Manchester and would favor a move away.
Mendes tells Barcelona that the transfer fee needed would not cost as much as what City paid Monaco.
The report goes further to claim that Bernardo was close to signing for Barcelona this summer. He was even more likely to join than Marco Verratti, but the intervention of Guardiola saw him land in Manchester.
