Mikel Obi confirms his departure from Chelsea with touching letter
Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has been frozen out of first team action y new manager Antonio Conte. His contract runs out in the summer and there are no plans for a renewal.
Valencia were the next team to be closely linked with the Nigerian international. His agent, John Shittu, has also denied such reports about a possible move to Valencia.
Shittu said: “It is not true that Mikel is joining Valencia on a four-year deal. The information is not correct.”
However, there appears to be new evidence pointing to the fact that he could indeed be heading for Valencia.
Mikel shared a tweet showing an emotional letter from a fan to him. And in the letter, the only club name written was Valencia, which could be a coded way of confirming his move.
Valencia sit 17th in the league, currently have no manager and the fans protested against the owner Peter Lim.
