No plans to retire at Barcelona as Neymar names one club he would like to join after Barcelona
Neymar is looked on as the heir to throne at Barcelona after Lionel Messi may have left the scene.
But like Messi, Neymar has reiterated the fact that he doesn’t intend to retire at Barcelona. The Brazilian sensation recently signed a new five-year contract with Barcelona with October.
But his retirement plans are as expected, far away in his native Brazil. What was perhaps even more surprisingly was his choice of club to lay for.
Rather than go with his boyhood club- Santos, where he developed to become one of the hottest prospects in the game, Neymar opted for Flamengo.
The Santos fans would also join the Camp Nou faithfuls in feeling letdown by the 24-year-old’s future plans.
However, any potential move is expected to be much later into the twilight stages of his career.
Speaking after a charity game (Game of Stars) in honor of the fallen Chapecoense players, he said:
‘If I could I would like to play for Flamengo, it would be a great honour for me to play at the Maracana. I would be playing there all day. It’s a club I want to play for.’
The Maracana is one of the most famous stadiums in Brazil and the world. It’s 80,000 fans inside makes the atmosphere in the ground electrifying and unforgettable for any player.
