Real Madrid players strong reply left Zidane shocked during crisis meeting
Real Madrid are experiencing a poor run of form and there are some speculations about a replacement fro Zinedine Zindane at the end of the season if he fails to turn things around.
Before their Copa del Rey game against Numancia, Zidane had held a crucial meeting with his players and staff concerning the current state of things.
It was the longest of such meetings since Zidane took over at the Santiago Bernabeu.
When asked in a press conference, the Frenchman said: “This was a talk that was necessary not just a talk for the sake of it and the objective was to get something out of the meeting”
But Spanish radio show El Larguero via AS DIario, have now given more details of the meeting that lasted for around 53 minutes.
It was a moment to reflect and analyze current issues and top players like Cristiano Ronaldo and team captain, Sergio Ramos, spoke up.
They was also room for the youngsters to air their views and the report says they expressed their unhappiness at being left on the bench despite training harder.
Zidane was recriminated with the claim that “it’s not true to state that those who train the hardest get to play”.
In conclusion, the show said a player from the squad also concluded that it was a “necessary” meeting but “somewhat boring and of limited productivity”.
