Rivaldo names two players Barcelona should sign
Former Barcelona star Rivaldo has shared his thoughts on the current situation Barcelona have found themselves in.
The Catalans got 222million euros for the sale of Neymar to Paris Saint Germain. But getting a replacement is still a tough challenge for them as they search around Europe and even China.
“He [Neymar] went to Paris and despite his importance for the team, I think Barcelona will be able to solve it,” he told Betfair.
“The transfer can even serve to reinforce the spirit of the team and to demonstrate that players come and go, but the club is far above them.”
“The fee is a very important financial income that allows the club to have some breathing space, in addition to trying to bring in new signings,” he explained.
Rivaldo who also spends his time playing for the Barcelona legends, has backed Barcelona to sign his fellow Brazilians Philippe Coutinho and Paulinho.
“Coutinho could be a good choice to play in Neymar’s position but Paulinho could also be an important addition to the midfield,” Rivaldo added.
Update on deals for Coutinho and Paulinho
Coutinho has now officially handed in a transfer request through an email he sent to the club. His move came after the club owners, FSG, released a statement saying they were not going to sell.
Barcelona’s move for Paulinho has not progressed after his club turned down Barcelona’s last offer.
