Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos finally respond to Michael Owen’s shocking comment about his weight gain
Last Saturday saw Cristiano Ronaldo present his fourth Ballon d’Or to the thousand of fans at the Bernabeu.
To make the day even more special the club invited ex-Real Madrid players like Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo Nazario, Luis Figo and Michael Owen who themselves have also won the prestigious award.
However, Michael Owen was a subject of controversy after taking to Twitter to mock Ronaldo Nazario who had gained a lot of weight since retiring.
Owen Tweeted: “I thought I was putting the pounds on until I saw my old mate Ronnie!”

The Brazilian legend was present at the FIFA award ceremnoy in Zurich and said: “I am shocked as to how much importance my weight garners in the world we live in. I don’t know why it is so important, to be honest.”
His friend Roberto Carlos was also not in support of such remarks and added: “I don’t like these type of jokes. Ronaldo is a very good friend of mine and we have to be careful.
“The thing about Ronaldo is not about his body, it’s his heart, he has a very big heart”
